Bright, spacious & clean place with nice vibe and good service.
Hubby and I came to have dim sum one morning, and dinner again few days later with friends on our recent trip to Toronto.
Food is delicious and dim sum dishes were very decent in size compared to NY dim sum!
Came here for 930am dimsum with the family and relatives. It took some time for the food to come out as it was opening hours. We ordered a variety of dishes and the food was good, nothing outstanding. My favorite salted egg yolk bun wasnt good at all. The filling inside was pretty dry and wasnt runny at all. We ended up getting around like 20 dishes and it came out to be just over $200. The service was good and the decor was nice though.
I overheard that this restaurant recently came under new management, with a top-notch chef who used to be the head chef at several popular restaurants in Markham. Before coming here, I had heard many mixed reviews, but since the management change, the food has improved drastically.
On my previous visit, the restaurant wasn’t very full, but this time it was packed—I assume many customers have returned because of the better dishes. My family usually doesn’t finish all the food, but this time we cleaned everything up, except for the curry crab that came last, since the sauce was heavy. That says a lot about how good the food was.
We tried a few recommended dishes, including sweet and sour chicken, curry crab (similar to Saigon Star), Japanese-style scallops in a sizzling clay pot, and asparagus sautéed beef cubes. The pre-ordered stewed soup was phenomenal.
Service was also excellent. Despite some negative comments I’d read, my server was attentive, changed our plates often, and even helped pack our leftovers without us asking.
Honestly, I’ve noticed many restaurants start off good but then suddenly turn bad—it really depends on the chef. Sometimes good chefs move around to different restaurants, and that makes a huge difference. It’s hard to say which restaurant will consistently stay good; at the end of the day, you just have to follow your taste buds and find out where the good food is.
I definitely recommend trying the curry crab, shrimp glass noodle clay pot, oyster pancake, scallops, beef, fish maw soup, and even the sweet and sour chicken .
The food was amazing, and so I thought maybe if this place is so good, then the service has to be great too. I was kinda wrong. The waiters accidentally gave us an extra plate of food, thinking we ordered it, and then later, the forgot to add something onto our receipt we ordered. I’ll take this as a simple mistake, and also, when I walked in, the place looked amazing. They had a tiny tree and, this looked so old styled but was pretty modern.
Passing by the restaurant at lunch time so just walked in without appointment. The restaurant was busy but as as loud as the usual busy Chinese restaurant. The service was nice and quick, great food quality ( I ordered too much for two people not knowing the portion is quite big). Especially loved the roasted duck. Dim sum looks a bit too big., but still tasted good. Though it is on the pricy side of Chinese restaurant, but the food and atmosphere is worth the price.
