The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Richmond Hill

I’ve been to this Keg many times in the past year, and overall I always felt it was acceptable — the food, the atmosphere, and the price were all fine. But today’s service made me extremely uncomfortable.
Our waitress was very intimidating. She had no smile at all, and when she brought us the bread basket, she basically threw it onto the table. She also placed the cutlery down with a loud clattering noise, which felt very inappropriate for a restaurant like this.
What I absolutely couldn’t accept was at the end: we asked for a box to pack the remaining steak, and she shoved the box right under my friend’s nose. My friend was stunned, and the waitress even gestured “Hey, this is for you, take it.”
Just last month, I visited the Keg in Guelph and had a completely different experience — warm greetings from a friendly waitress who smiled and even made conversation with us. I don’t understand how there can be such a huge difference between locations.
I still left a 15% tip, but I really don’t want to come back again. p.s： the 1st picture is today at Keg Richmond, the 2nd pic is last month at Keg Guelph.

I love The Keg! It's one of my favorite go-to spots when I'm craving steak. Their food quality is consistently excellent. I've visited various locations multiple times, and each time, they deliver the same great taste and quality. I always order the rib steak, which is fantastic for the price. Honestly, I believe it's one of the best rib steaks around. I've been to many pricier steakhouses, and they don't even compare, especially considering they charge more than double. I will definitely keep returning to The Keg.

Consistency and value for your dollar. Our server Jackie was friendly, professional and very attentive. The restaurant is spacious and had an upscale yet relaxed atmosphere, suitable for family dining but also quite nice for date night as well. Beautiful selection of wine as you can see from my picture, however if you prefer a scotch they’ve got quite a nice selection of both single malt and blended. As a starter I had the Caesar salad. It was very lightly dressed in a cream sauce with parmigiana cheese shavings, chunky croutons and lemon wedge. Basic and unrefined, but a starter salad nonetheless. For mains I had the 10 oz filet medium. The temperature on the cook of the meat was perfect! Seasoned well. The quality of the steak was decent and definitely in line with the pricing. The green beans were crispy and tasty and I wish there were more. The plate looks a little sparse but a satisfying plate. My partner chose a 7 ounce top sirloin cooked well. He had no complaints and we both enjoyed the atmosphere and the service we received which was appreciated. Both of us agreed we would come back to the Keg Richmond location and repeat the experience. I had an amazing dining experience at The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Richmond Hill! I ordered the Lobster Summer Menu, and it was absolutely perfect – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I also enjoyed the calamari and a classic Caesar salad, both delicious and perfectly seasoned. The wine selection paired wonderfully with the meal, making the evening even more enjoyable.

The service was outstanding – attentive, friendly, and professional, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everything from the food quality to the ambiance was top-notch.

Highly recommend this location if you’re looking for a perfect night out with amazing food and great service. Definitely a 5-star experience!

Absolutely Exceptional Dining Experience at The Keg
From the moment I walked in, The Keg delivered a top-tier dining experience that deserves every one of these five stars.

I ordered the steak cooked medium-well, and it was absolutely perfect—juicy, flavorful, and impressively held its temperature throughout the meal. It was served with mashed potatoes that were creamy and delicious, and the accompanying sauce was incredibly tasty.

The lobster was also a standout—though the portion looked modest, it was rich, satisfying, and had a unique flavor that made it truly memorable.

Dessert was a pleasant end to the meal. While it wasn’t homemade (it came pre-packaged), it still hit the spot and complemented the meal nicely.

The service was nearly flawless—much better than many other restaurants in the area. What truly set this visit apart was the way the staff handled a moment when I began to feel a bit dizzy. They were attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. The manager even gave me his number to follow up, which was a deeply appreciated gesture that spoke volumes about their hospitality.

While the prices are on the higher side, the combination of excellent food, top-notch service, and the fine dining ambiance absolutely makes it worth it.
