滿意粥粉面 Very Good Congee & Noodle

I came to this place after a 2 weeks away to Europe, I miss the Hong Kong local food so much. They moved from the old location in the same plaza to this new location recentlty and it’s more spacious and comfortable than before.

Two of us ordered a beef tendon lo mein (noodles with a small bowl of soup come separately) with wonton and spicy minced pork sauce (which I love) and an assorted congee. They both taste really good, the ingredient texture is cooked and prepared perfectly and well seasoned. Not too salty. I love the congee texture. It costs around $33 exclude tips.

We had been looking forward to visiting the new location for their renowned pork liver congee. Unfortunately, our visit today at 11:45 AM was a letdown. Despite it not even being lunchtime yet, they had already run out of pork liver. It's a pity that the main reason for our visit wasn't available so early in the day. Hopefully, they can manage their inventory better in the future.

I had plans to meet a friend at King Square today. We passed by this restaurant and saw a lot of people waiting outside, so we decided to give it a try too. We waited for about 25 minutes.

We ordered two bowls of congee, one plate of shrimp rice rolls, and a Chinese donut (youtiao). The food arrived in about 10 minutes. I had the chicken and fish slice congee, the congee was smooth, the chicken was flavorful, and the fish slices were tender. Everything tasted great. The youtiao was quite good too. Later, I also ordered a lemon tea, which was quite unique, it had both lemon and lime, and tasted really refreshing.

I did notice that even solo diners were being given four-person tables. If the seating arrangements allowed for table sharing, it might help reduce wait times,we probably wouldn’t have had to wait as long.

Overall, the food was quite tasty and the price is fair too. I’d definitely come back again to try more dishes.

Such a disappointing visit 😞 they used to be so good when it first opened! The 牛根河 was super bland, both soup base was way too oily, the noodles were not as 爽口 as before, even the dumplings and wonton were not good. The 3 stars are for 鯪魚球 (thank god that was still really good) and the service.

My friends went out for lunch to try this Very Good Congee and Noodle. We ordered congee, beef brisket lomein, pork liver noodle soup, deep fried fish ball and the deep fried dumplings. I like the beef lomein and the deep fried dumplings. Price is reasonable and serving is good.
