I contacted several bakeries in Markham to pre-order a Tuxedo cake (my daughter's favourite) for her birthday. DS Confection was the only one that made tuxedo cakes - we couldn't be more pleased with the service and quality of the cake.

Derrick was accommodating and added my cake topper and her name (can't believe I forgot to add this detail) when I picked up the cake.

My daughter loved it! Thank you Derrick. We will definitely order from this bakery again!

This is my first time visiting here, the boss and staff are amazing , service is so good .The chocolate is great quality, especially the rum truffle favor is the best I ever tried . Macaron cookies have the perfect balance and favor, very good value here .

Canadian Master Chocolatier, Derrick Pho has been in the confectionery industry for over 30 years! His experience and stories from around the world are incredible, and it was such a pleasure talking to him :) Chef Pho is passionate, knowledgeable, and so talented at what he does - we are very excited that he finally opened his first DS Confection shop in Markham!

- Chef Pho was a baking/pastry professor, and he has taught most of the local, well-known pastry chefs in Toronto... you name them, he's taught them lol. And believe it or not, he also created the recipe for the TUXEDO CAKE you see at Costco!!

The classic French pastries and desserts here are SO DELICIOUS! Everything is made fresh daily in-house, and they are not too sweet at all ^^

Here are some of my favourites:

Plain croissant - light, flaky and crispy! Honestly, the BEST croissant I've ever had. Croissant-making is such a timely and unbelievably meticulous process!

Chocolate éclair♡ #mustorder so fresh, and the chocolate and raspberry filling inside was perfect!

Tiramisu - made with 5 different liquors, so it is quite strong but it was literally love at first bite!

Opera Cake - never had opera cake so fine before! The layers are so distinctive, it was really delicious!

I'm so glad to finally meet the team behind DS Confection! I can't wait to be back again to try more creations!

Went in for croissant but walked out with three cakes for birthday. They were so patient and described each slice to us. We were looking for something light so they recommended mousse cake and strawberry tart. I also ordered a slice of cheesecake which really was heavier than the other two. I'd say they are traditional, professional, and worth the cost. Next time I'll try a classic croissant and coffee.
