David Duncan House

Upon celebrating some work achievements, I reserved a table for David Duncan House and it was a definite treat.

The hostess was quick and got us into a very nice spot, overseeing quite a bit of the restaurant. We ended up going with a coffee martini and an old fashioned to start. Both cocktails were well balanced. As for food, we started off with the tableside Caesar salad and finished with the filet mignon and NY strip. The salad was fantastic, with thick cut bacon that was sweet and countered the dressing wonderfully. If it was diced a little more to evenly mix around the salad, that would be better for more uniformity.

The steaks were cooked exactly to order and finished with some Maldon salt. The one gripe is that the cut was average. Some lack of marbling or having a bit of a crust would be appreciated but I take that's what makes it a traditional steak then. The chimichurri like sauce to accompany it was great as well as the peppers and broccolini was sweet and savory accordingly.

We got a hazelnut tart as a surprise and that was decadent! With a crunchy base and a mousse middle, that was well appreciated.

As a whole, this is a fantastic place for dinner, a celebration, even a reason for getting a steak. But if they source their beef or are more transparent about their style of cooking, I would have gone for something else.

We visit Duncan's House on special occasions and they never disappoint. Quality food cooked to perfection 👌 Waiter staff are always on point! Courteous staff, great food and fine dining atmosphere. We're going to be regulars. Try the cherries jubilee, amazing 👏

My friend and I came here to celebrate my birthday. We ordered the table side caesar, the 16oz rib eye steak, grilled lamb chops, fries, and mashed potatoes, an old fashioned and a glass of wine. The caesar salad was decent but the steak and lamb were disappointing. Both the steak and lamb were not seasoned well, we kept having to add salt to the meats. At the end, they brought a slice of cake with a candle for my birthday celebration.

With the prices we are paying, the food should be better seasoned. We do not feel like we got our moneys worth but the service and atmosphere was great!

We had a truly wonderful anniversary celebration last night. A heartfelt thank you to Chris for your exceptional service and warm hospitality. Your initiative and kind assistance with taking photos made the evening even more memorable. Your photography skills are truly impressive!

The ambiance of the restaurant was delightful, and the food was excellent, especially the steak. We were also pleasantly surprised and very grateful for the complimentary dessert in celebration of our anniversary. It was a lovely and thoughtful gesture.

If I may offer one small suggestion, it might enhance the overall experience if reservation notes, such as anniversaries or birthdays, could be communicated to the service team in advance. Although we included an anniversary remark in our online booking, it was only realized after we mentioned it to the servers.

First glance…. Super expensive. Secluded yet warm. Older style, very elegant many separated rooms. Was there for an educational dinner event. Service staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was tasty and served very fast. I would go back there, but not with family or friends. Only as what I went there for in the first place. Work related.
