Peaceful, serene, quiet; huge pond with a trail surrounding it for a good hike. It has multiple viewpoints to soak in some nature by the pond-beach.
We went here towards the end of Summer, so weather was pleasant. Walked through the trail in about two hours. It is dense and circular we felt, with multiple entry and exit points. A couple of lovely wooden footbridges. And of course, the pond was at its core.
Great little spot with free parking and a short loop around the lake. Great for families of all ages. Very scenic spot and enjoyed a nice lunch in town which was only a 3 minute walk.
Toogood Pond is a popular scenic spot located in Unionville, Markham, Ontario. It's a serene pond within Toogood Pond Park, surrounded by walking trails, green spaces, and beautiful natural landscapes.
The pond is home to various wildlife, including ducks, geese, and fish, making it a pleasant destination for leisurely walks, bird watching, or simply relaxing by the water.
The park also features picnic areas, benches, and picturesque views, especially during the fall when the foliage is vibrant.
It’s close to Unionville's historic Main Street, which is known for its charming shops, cafes, and restaurants, making it a great combination of nature and local culture.
Parking is limited and its get busier during evenings and its completly free.
What a beautiful pond and park. This is a great spot for a quick walk. You can easily walk around the pond perimeter easily within an hour. Rich in vegetation with a little creek, a partial boardwalk, playground and restrooms, this pond park definitely lives up to its name. It’s TOO GOOD!!!💚💙💚💙💚
We parked at 280 Main Street. That’s the beginning of the park and where you’ll find the pond. And the washrooms. The washrooms don’t have any signs on the door. There is a lookout over the pond. We saw a man fishing. You can park at 218 Main Street but that’s a busier parking lot and it’s the end of the park. But closer to downtown Unionville. Parking is free. Lots of Canadian geese at the entrance. It’s a pretty clean and well groomed park. There’s benches and a few picnic tables. The park actually goes in a roundabout. We saw a double crested cormorant and four turtles in the pond. There were some mosquitoes out. But it’s a nice park with 2 lookouts. We did not see any play grounds. And dogs have to be leashed. I would definitely return. And the times saying that they are closed Saturday and Sunday is not correct. I went in a Saturday around 9:00am and I know someone who went on a Sunday. So those times need to be changed.
