Sengyo Sushi delivers the kind of Japanese comfort-meets-craftsmanship that keeps you thinking about the next visit before you’ve even finished the meal. Everything was beautifully fresh, generously portioned, and plated with the kind of care that makes the experience feel elevated without being fussy.
The Matsu Sashimi Platter was a standout: thick, buttery cuts of sashimi served at the perfect temperature, showcasing natural sweetness and quality. The Taster 8 Torched Sushi was rich, melty and aromatic, sealing in flavour with that satisfying torched finish that sushi lovers chase.
For something warm and cozy, the Cha Xu Ramen brought deep, savoury broth comfort with great balance; hearty without being heavy. The Assorted Tempura Mix arrived crisp and golden, light enough that you can enjoy every piece without feeling weighed down. And the Spicy Salmon Roll tied everything together with bold flavour, clean spice, and freshness in every bite.
Sengyo is one of those spots that quietly overdelivers: high quality without the pretension, and the kind of consistent execution that turns a good meal into a restaurant you bookmark for regular rotation. If you love authentic flavour done right, this is a must-visit in North York. ✨

Sengyo Sushi is my go-to spot in the GTA as the atmosphere is very comfy met with amazing service and delicious food. Highly recommend the torched set, melting in your mouth with great flavor! The sashimi is fresh tasting and the plating is always done with care.
A surprisingly good sushi spot in the neighborhood! The ingredients are fresh and the quality is honestly on par with J San Sushi, which I didn’t expect from such an unassuming location at Cliffwood plaza. Service is warm and efficient (I think it run by a family) — even though it was a full house on a Saturday night, my takeout was ready on time without any issues.
It’s a small restaurant but clearly loved by locals, and for good reason. I really enjoy their food and hope they continue to do well. Will join the VIP program nex time!
Came here based on the reviews and it was worth it. We were seated fajrly quickly and the staff was nice. The decor and tableware were so cute, loved the cups! We ordered a variety of dishes which all came out pretty quick and in a nice order. We had gyoza, takoyaki, and sushi. All delicious!
Everything about this place has exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere to cutlery and tableware is just stunning. The food too, it's the best sushi I've had and I'm not a big fan of seafood. It's the only place I'd get it from, I don't like the fishy taste from most places, but this place gets their fish so fresh that I never have a fishy aftertaste. I discovered this restaurant because of their $1 sushi promo a while back and I've gotten takeout from them ever since. I highly recommend anyone living nearby to try it and it's worth the drive even if don't live nearby! The best thing on the menu is definitely the Shrimp Tempura, it's so crispy and the meat is so tender and melts in your mouth!
