I don’t get why people rating this restaurant such low score. Casa Imperial Fine Cuisine located in a busy area of Scarborough is a state of art. I mean just look at the color of time on the historical building. I think the money is worth spending, considering you come here both for the fine food & excellent customer service. I felt like as if I walked into the Time Machine…
The food tastes good and fresh; the portion is quite large. I ordered a little too much because I wanted to have some variety to try. I think the ingredients they use are one of the reasons why they pride themselves as one of the best restaurants in GTA. It’s a definitely must try, I’d highly suggest.
Dim sum is good at this restaurant, and less oily compared to other locations. Prices are average, and they offer the pre-11 am special on weekdays.
The presentation of the food isn't as nice as Skyview or The One.
The restaurant decor is very classical. Some people may like it and others may not. Be prepared to walk some stairs as the restaurant is split up on different floors. The washroom is down in the basement.
I went on a Saturday and only waited a few minutes for a table. I will return one day.
Typical Chinese banquet style food. I prefer their dim sum as the quality of the dim sum is much higher than average. Dinner is just so so and a bit too pricey. Food quality is comparable to many Chinese restaurants in the area. One thing I really dislike though is there are a lot of flies inside - I’m not sure why they don’t get rid of them when it’s suppose to be a fine dining place. Makes the experience less enjoyable.
Stepping into this Chinese restaurant felt like a nostalgic journey back to the high-class eateries of 90s Hong Kong or Shanghai. The decor is beautifully reminiscent of that era, with elegant furnishings and an atmosphere that exudes a blend of classic charm and sophistication. From the moment I walked in, I was transported to a different time, marveling at the attention to detail in the interior design.
What truly impressed me was that the quality of the food did not take a backseat to the stunning decor. Each dish was crafted with care and precision, resulting in an amazing culinary experience. The spinach seafood dumplings were an absolute standout. The filling was fresh and flavorful, perfectly complemented by the delicate, chewy skin of the dumplings, which was very springy and tender.
Another highlight was the fried yam dumplings. They were beautifully crispy on the outside, yet wonderfully soft and flavorful on the inside. Each bite was a delightful mix of textures and tastes, showcasing the chef’s expertise and attention to detail.
Despite the restaurant’s high-class ambiance, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect place for both special occasions and casual dining. The staff were attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience.
In summary, this restaurant offers not just a meal but an experience, transporting diners to a bygone era while serving up top-notch, authentic Chinese cuisine. The spinach seafood dumplings and fried yam dumplings, in particular, were unforgettable, with their perfect balance of flavors and textures. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to indulge in exquisite food within a beautifully nostalgic setting. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu or even held my wedding here!
We were a group of 4. The food, service and atmosphere was great. The prices were really good. We ordered a variety of dim sum. If you love shrimp, there is plenty of it. The food was flavourful but lacked spiciness which I totally get so we got hot sauce and that was it. We devoured our food.
