Scarborough Community Alliance Church

I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of the SComm community for ~4 months now. While not an official member yet, I’ve felt blessed by both the laypeople and leadership, and hoping to park here for some time.

Based on my own observations, the congregation is filled with gospel-loving and community-centric people supporting those deep into the mission field. Recently, the church has taken a Love in Action initiative to encourage more community-minded serving.

From a newcomer’s perspective, the SComm community are incredibly warm, welcoming and have provided invitations to small groups, discipleship classes, congregational prayer meetings, and ministries, which is something I haven’t received in other places I’ve visited.

Pastor Vic has been truly genuine and relational and I can sense his passion for teaching and community building. It truly shows in his leadership and preaching.

I don’t claim to know the church’s past history and cause behind the slew of negative reviews, but I would not let that deter you from attending.

I was once a lost sheep, and when my sister brought me back to this church, the pastor, elders, leaders, and people of this church welcomed me with open arms and loving smile. There is no judgement here, they make you feel at home and you can be who you are with a loving and protective pastor who genuinely tends to the care of his sheeps and speaks loving truth to us. His sermons are uplifting, true to the Word, and convicting. The Sunday discipleship class is where we grow together and learn more about God together in a safe environment free of judgement, with sound teaching and fruitful discussion. This is a very loving, prayerful church where it is evident that Christ is the centre of it all by seeing the fruits that the leaders and its disciples bear!
Thankful that the pastor and leaders are all very approachable so you can genuinely feel their care and can easily turn to them whenever you need help. This is a church who loves and care for the broken, foster and grow their disciples in the Truth, welcoming to everyone who comes to the church (new comers, lost sheeps, or anyone who comes through the door).

p.s. there is free coffee every Sunday morning offered to everyone, brewed by the pastor himself!

Excellent church. Pastor, elders and leaders are very humble and passionate about teaching God's Word and are mission focused on spreading the gospel. They are big on discipleship and dependent on prayer.

If you are seeking to find the meaning of life or want to experience genuine love, come here to learn about Jesus Christ’s love for you. He alone is the one who paid the debt of your sins and loved you to give you eternal life.

I have attended SComm for roughly half my life, and grown through their youth ministries, Sunday services, small groups, discipleship classes, and more. The teaching is Scripture-based, honest, and convicting, and the church is full of people who love God and love others. There are also tons of ways to get involved in serving, outreach, and missions. Have been attending this church for 10+ years and it is a place many people call home! The elders, deacons, admin and leadership teams are committed to serving God and loving His people. Leadership has a genuine desire for church members to grow deeper in spirit and in truth, through small groups, Sunday school classes ,and is also welcoming to newcomers! The church is also missions focused and often supports teams to go to other places in the world to further His kingdom.

Location is great as well! Many people go out to lunch in the plazas at midland and finch after church or grab bubble tea together; community building continues outside of service times!
