been eating at this place with my family for over 25 years since I was a kid. I visited recently to do have the best fried chicken in the city. Sad to hear they are going to close down shop and retire by the end of the year. go before they close!!

I recently visited Hung Food Cooking, a hidden spot in a quiet mall on Midland and Sheppard. I joined the steady line for their legendary #44 Fried Chicken Rice. The portion was enormous. Fried chicken pieces rested on a mountain of rice that stayed lightly seasoned yet satisfying. The steam inside the box took away some crispiness, but the meat still tasted good and made for a hearty bite.
I also tried their Fried Noodles loaded with shrimp, Chinese Broccoli, beef, and chicken. Each forkful felt comforting, and I appreciated the mix of meats and veggies. The serving was big enough that I had plenty of leftovers, so I reheated them with a fresh egg the next day. It turned into a second meal that still made me feel I was getting my money’s worth.
If you are craving a massive meal at a great price, Hung Food Cooking definitely delivers.

You come to dragon centre for one thing only, fried chicken from the only surviving food court stall. The whole building is on its last legs, and this is the only business still thriving. You will be missed when the end finally comes. Thank you for the memories. I hope the memories of a bustling Dragon Centre lives on for those who use to frequent this iconic mall.

One of the last chicken fried rice restaurants in dragon center and a classic restaurant. Chicken is good as always but it is a lot more expensive than it was years ago. Staff is friendly and accommodating. There hasn't been any dine-in here since the pandemic, but why would you do that? Pro-tip get take out and eat at a park or at home. Other than that I still think it always consistently tastes good and I recommend the fried chicken on rice

Located inside Dragon Centre, this is one of those IYKYK kind of places.

Randomly stumbled upon this place while trying to look for a dessert spot around the area. The mall is very run down as I've heard they're demolishing the building for condos.

I asked someone waiting for their food how this place was and they said they've been a customer since high school and now they're 40! I ordered the must try #44 for $16 and it was exactly what I expected. Generous portion of chicken and fried rice. The chicken was delicious and juicy. The fried rice was a bit plain, but everyone else recommended to get some chilli oil so I did the same and it definitely made it more tasty. They also serve party platters of #44 for $60.

This hole in the wall isn't for everyone. I'd come back.
