The food is fresh and cheap, the options are vast.
You can have veg options as well and they have specials for each day of the which in store which you can enjoy! Friendly staff too and quick service. Should try if you want a quick bite.
I visited ERA Supermarket recently and was asked to show my bag at the counter. I completely understand if it’s part of the store’s policy, but it wasn’t explained to me, which made the situation feel a bit awkward. I’d really appreciate if staff could kindly mention that it’s a routine check next time — it helps customers feel more comfortable.
Eraa Supermarket sells many different items, with a special emphasis on South Asian groceries. Its prices are competitive, and there was an efficient check-out system even though the store can be busy at times. It is well-maintained and serves East Scarborough well.
Eraa is the go to one stop shop for so many years and for so many things. It does not end with rice bags and meat packets. Not with briyani boxes or Ilai Saapadu. Not with fresh veggies or sweet boxes. Not with masalas or whole spices. Eraa is the last resort through this inflation. Eraa is the last resort for tamils who are home sick. Eraa is the last resort for reminders about concerts, about remembrance days of tamil freedom fight, about how we tamils function as a society. Our love for open space music, our treasure hunt to see fresh Karuveppilai and Malli ilai, our safe space for Paati Vaithiyam a.k.a home remedies. Eraa is so much more but most importantly a brand where the staff treat you as family and never cease to be Canadian. Yes, they abide by the blend of nationally Canadian and ethnically Tamil. Eraa represents us Tamils in a truly international fashion. Vaazhga Valamudan! Vaazhiya Pallandu!
Eraa Supermarket is a great spot if you’re looking for meats, fresh produce, and a bunch of international groceries you won’t find at your regular grocery store. They’ve got a nice mix of stuff from the South Asia tons of spices, rice varieties, and snacks that remind you of Tamil Eelam 💕
The meat counter is one of the best parts always fresh, and the guys behind the counter know their stuff. Prices are pretty reasonable too, which is always a win.
Only downside is it gets really busy on weekends, and the parking lot can be a bit of a headache. Not enough parking Plus, the checkout lines can take a while if you’re there during peak times. Customers service needs to improve.
Overall though, it’s a solid place to shop especially if you’re looking for cultural foods and Tamil Eelam options all in one place.
They even carry house hold and Pooja items.
They have 3 different shops under one roof - grocery, Meat Shop and Restaurant
Please work on the customer service and parking issues.
